Greetings:

I have been using the milter-gris for greylisting for some time now.
Version .8 has been 100% stable with no issues. This software is great!

I think I just found a bug in 0.9 .

I am running on Suse Linux with the Kernel 2.6.5 , gcc 3.3 and Sendmail
8.13.3 (the same setup I used with version 0.8)

This is the problem I encountered.

The Milter-Gris process was crashing unceremoniously.
I found this in the logs.

Jun 2 11:00:01 moya milter-gris[24352]: "/etc/mail/access.db" failed
verification: Permission denied Jun 2 11:00:01 moya milter-gris[24352]:
failed to re-open "/etc/mail/access.db"
Jun 2 11:00:01 moya sendmail[3283]: j52J01HO003283:
milter_read(milter-gris): cmd read returned 0, expecting 5 Jun 2
11:00:01 moya sendmail[3283]: j52J01HO003283: Milter (milter-gris): to
error state

My access.db and file permissions are good. I have to delete the .pid
file to restart the process.

I was able to recreate the problem on demand by running makemap to
rebuild the access.db.
makemap hash access < access

I run a cron job every hour that builds a dynamic whitelist for more
filters than just Milter-Gris.
I have scripted a workaround. (stopping milter-gris before the makemap
occurs then restarting it)
